Autumn

One of the creeks running through town

We are having an apparently unseasonably warm patch of Autumn weather. Everyone assures us that by Halloween it should be a foot of snow on the ground and much colder. But we are toally fine with the warm days and little rain, giving us a bit longer to easily explore. On Sunday we took a bike ride into town with the kids. There are a series of small creeks and bike paths that can be followed.

The perfect tree to cross the river, over and back again,
around and around again
We also have discovered a few bouldering "rocks" in the parks around town, including on campus near us. Fake/designed boulders for practising your climbing moves. A very cool addition to the landscape.

And in this weeks strange autumn activity: there are temporary signs going up informing people that the streets will be cleaned on set times of the week, so do not to park here. This co-oincides iwth (or perhaps creates) a madness of people sweeping all of the leaves off their gardens and paths and onto the road. Mountains of leaves being constructed on the road side so that the council takes the leaves away! Quite clever really.

  1. Do you all have bikes? In Oz I don't think people would heed the notice not to park in certain areas for the streets to be cleaned, though maybe once cars were removed or damaged attitudes might change. Once snow falls cars on the road can be buried by the snow ploughs as they clear the roads.

  2. I looked at the picture of the bouldering rock first and thought that's not real! Then read the text whoops! That creek looks gorgeous.
