Our Library

Here is a post on a normal part of our life - the local Bozeman Library. We are trying to limit our book purchases, and so the library has become a regular on our weekly routine to collect a big box of books for the kids and me. I have found some favourite authors and read my way through quite a few new adult and youth books too; lots of fun. The library has an amazing kids room, complete with toys and play areas. Proving a great inside activity for cold, snowy days in the long winter one presumes!

The library also offers clubs and extracurricular activities, and we have joined the Lego Club. Monday afternoon construction hour. It was started by one of the children's librarians with her own stash and she now has so much lego being donated that she is gifting it to other libraries in the district. The aim is all basic construction blocks and stuff like from my 80s childhood, unstructured play. They get a month to own their construction, and then it all gets broken and started again. Plus they sort it all out by colour, appealing to the ordered, organised part of our personalities. A great idea.
