Feeding the Ducks
Sometimes we really do just do normal things here too. And duck feeding is a favourite Taupo past time, especially with small kids but even us bigger kids still enjoy it. Thus I have not yet stopped my tendency to bag up crusts and keep a stash of old bread in the freezer for duck feeding. When it gets too big and starts to over run the freezer and/or the kids need to go outside and be run for a bit - we go up to the MSU duckpond. It is spring-fed and it seems the ducks stay there all year round. We can confirm this in a few weeks when the cold finally comes. Apparently we are having an unseasonally long fall. It is still sunny, clear and calm with frosty mornings and glorious days. And we are not complaining one bit!

You are so lucky with the weather. The locals must be very happy except those whose jobs are linked to winter activities. Perth has suddenly become hot apparently with 37 an 40 degree days. Auckland better in low 20s and high teens - though wet and windy yesterday - spring weather.
