Hunter Canyon

I havent really said anything about Moab itself - but we didnt do anything in the town except for grabbing a few groceries. On the holiday weekend we avoided the main shopping area and streets. Our place was just out of town as well, which was perfect for avoiding other tourists!

The view from above our lodgings back to Moab (left = south, not the
whole town, just the northern bit).Matthew and Luca climbed up the cliffs
behind our place one evening as the sun went down.

Our last day in Moab we went for a couple of mile walk up Hunter Canyon. We were purposely avoiding the tourists by going to local-known spots instead of the national parks where the tailback to get in was ever growing. This canyon was a mixture of shade and sun - so we were on and off with the layers the whole way. The kids had a great time picking paths - there no way to get lost, we just went into the canyon and then came back out again. Jumped and walked across the creek many times as we made our way up and back. More red rock walls, water shaped features and cacti!
